Terry came to Presidio Sport and Medicine with right
knee pain in August 2001 after qualifying for the Hawaii
Ironman Triathlon in October. He was referred to Dr.
Louie for an MRI and surgical consultation, and just
9 weeks before the Hawaii Ironman Terry had surgery.
He returned to PSM with hopes of still racing in Hawaii.
Through muscle re-education, strength training, aquatic
therapy, and a modified Ironman training program Terry
was able to successfully complete the entire Hawaii
Ironman just 9 weeks after arthroscopic knee surgery.
He swam 2.5 miles, biked 112 miles and ran a full marathon
(26.2 miles). Congratulations, Terry, on your incredible
Hawaii Ironman achievement.
