Preparation
for Practice with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy
The clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy is
a three year graduate program. The DPT degree is the
latest step in a movement toward increasing autonomy
in the profession which currently have a Doctorate degree
in place (i.e. medicine, dentistry, podiatry, and chiropractic.)
The first two years of the program are based primarily
in the classroom with summer internships; the third
year is comprised of two internships and specialty coursework
in your chosen area of interest.
